GENERAL INFORMATION ON DOLL KITS
All my doll kits are 1/12th scale porcelain Dolls House Dolls and are
hand made and painted by me, Janet Harmsworth.
They are poured from commercial molds, sculpted by some of the top
doll artists. I use the finest porcelain slip.
Each doll will go through 5-6 kiln firings to produce the finished article, so
therefore it can take up to 2 weeks to make each doll.
As they are hand made, no two will ever be exactly the same.
Lady dolls are designed to be 51/2 inches in height, and Men 6 inches
unless otherwise stated.
Each doll kit consists of a head/torso or head shoulder plate doll,
with half arms (arms to the elbow) and half legs (legs to just below the knee).
Some doll kits can be supplied with full arms and legs please ask.
The heads are bald for wigging. Some men have molded hair which can
either be painted or wigged over.
Most dolls have molded shoes, which you can either paint or cover with leather.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT DOLL KIT
There are various types of doll bodies, all of which have their
advantages and disadvantages.
Head Torso
The head and body are poured in one piece, and the torso
extends generally to the waist or hip line.
The arms and legs are attatched with pipe cleaners.
This type of kit is the easiest to put together.
Several of the lady dolls have drop shoulders, which are ideal for
ball gowns etc.

Shoulder Plate
The head is attatched to the shoulder plate either in the
pouring state (fixed head)
or
The head can be attatched with elastic, which allows
the head to be turned.
A body armature made from pipe cleaners and wadding
will be required.
This is the most posable body type.

All Porcelain
These dolls have a full head torso body and full porcelain arms
and legs which are strung through the body cavity with elastic.
This type of doll is the least posable.
